Thank you for another great week! There will be lots going on in the upcoming months, so please take a moment to look at the Upcoming Dates listed below. Many items are not on School Cash Online yet, but will be in the upcoming weeks.
Please welcome to the school Mr. Rahul Kaswa, an Early Childhood Education Student from Mohawk College who is completing a Field Placement from September 15th to November 6th. He will be learning in the Kindergarten Classroom on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Please also continue to welcome Mrs. Zarafonitis (Mrs. Z). She has been working in the office in place of Mrs. Dupuis while she is off on a leave of absence, and will continue with us until around Thanksgiving weekend. A reminder that the playground area is closed before and after school. Please continue to pick your children up at the gate (kindergarten or parking lot) and leave the playground space for the YMCA Childcare Permit after school.
School Council Upcoming Meeting and Election - date change September 22nd

Volunteers
A reminder that an email was sent this week for information about volunteer requirements. Please review the email and reach out to me with any questions. You will need to send in an Offence Declaration for this year, even if you have already provided the Police Record Check last year.
Hot Lunch, Milk & Tuck Shop
These programs will be posted on School Cash hopefully this upcoming week, in order to start the week of October 5th. We will run a monthly milk program, hot lunch options, and Tuck Shop ticket sales. Thank you for supporting our food and snack programs. Money raised with these programs goes back to the students for extra-curricular activities and materials, trips and school event costs.
Open House Wednesday Sept 23 3:30 to 5:30 pm
Please join us on Wednesday September 23rd for a tour of your child’s classroom and to meet the teacher! We have invited an Ice Cream Truck so that you can get a sweet treat on your way back home (please only purchase your treat after the classroom tour to help keep the school classrooms and hallways clean).
Terry Fox Run Friday, September 25th at 1:30 pm
The 46th Terry Fox School Walk/Run is set for this month, and we are excited to participate once again! This year also marks the 20th year that Gracefield has participated in this special event. We will be walking/running at school during the afternoon on Friday, September 25th, 2026. Family members are welcome to cheer us on at the walk. The students will start the assembly at 1:30 inside, then will head outdoors to walk. Please use the lawn area/front sidewalks for viewing this event. This event supports vital cancer research while also building incredible school spirit for our students. Let’s continue to show our incredible spirit and generosity as we try to reach our fundraising goal of $1000.

Save the Date! Whole School Trip to Shrek the Musical Monday December 14th!
We will again go as a whole school to see a musical at the Greg Freewin Theatre. This year’s feature is Shrek the Musical! Tickets for students and parents/guardians will be on School Cash Online in the next couple of months.
