World Teachers Day
Monday, October 5th is World Teachers Day. Thank you to our amazing educators for all you do each and every day to ensure our Grey Hawks are safe, supported, and inspired to do their best. Your dedication helps shape a school community where our students thrive and grow into the best versions of themselves.
School Council Mabel’s Labels Fundraiser

Funds raised this year through fundraisers and Council Events will go towards supporting the teacher classroom fund, our playground maintenance fund, and the future purchase of a new projector and screen for the gymnasium.
Shrek the Musical - Update and Clarification
A few reminders for the upcoming Shrek the Musical trip in December.
First, families are welcome to join us. Families will drive themselves (not travel by bus) and meet the students there. Students will travel on the bus with our staff. Thank you to the Parent Council who have committed to paying for the bus this year from fundraisers, which keeps the cost of the trip down for all families.
At the musical, families will sit with their students. As you will not be required to supervise, the volunteer paperwork is not required to come on this trip. There is no limit to the number of people that can come (within reason as there is limited seating) but at this point we have not put a restricted number on tickets. To eat or drink at this event requires the pre-purchase of a popcorn combo, as the snack bar will NOT be open for sales at the event. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to the classroom teachers.
Cross country
Congratulations to all cross country runners who ran at their first meet last Tuesday! Runners will have another opportunity to race this Tuesday at Burgoyne Woods. Times remain the same so we are asking all Novice girl runners to meet at the park to ensure they are not late for their race. Novice girls run at 9:45 with all other races following approximately 15-20 minutes apart (Novice boys, Junior girls, Intermediate boys/girls combined, Senior girls/boys combined). Good luck to all!

Soccer
The intermediate co-ed soccer team will play on Thursday, October 8th at St. Catharines Collegiate. Families are responsible to transport their player to and from the tournament. Players are asked to meet on the field at 8:30 AM for warm-ups with their first game starting at 9:00 AM. Please make sure permission forms are filled out on School Cash Online. Players have been provided paper copies of their schedule for the day. Parking is available in the large lot across from the Collegiate Staff parking. Entrance to the parking lot is off of Hetherington Street. There is no rain date. If weather is severe, coaches will be notified by 7:30 AM and we will try to let families know ASAP.

Intermediate Volleyball
Congratulations to those students who have made the 2026 Intermediate Boys’ and
Girls’ Volleyball Teams. The October and November schedule for practices will continue
to be posted on our daily announcements each day depending on the availability of the
gym.
Intermediate Volleyball Schedule 2026
Games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with the exception of Oct. 27). The games
will be double headers with both the boys’ and the girls' teams playing on the same date
and location.

Gracefield Movie Night Thursday, October 29th - Save the Date!
Join us for the showing of the movie Coco in our gymnasium. Snack packs and pizza will be available for purchase in advance. The item will be available on School Cash in the upcoming weeks. Bring a water bottle, bring a blanket, and enjoy watching a movie as a school community. Hope to see you there!

A reminder that an email was sent this week for information about volunteer requirements. Please review the email and reach out to me with any questions. You will need to send in an Offence Declaration for this year, even if you have already provided the Police Record Check last year.
