I want to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a safe and happy summer!

School Summer Hours and Access

Please note that while the school office will remain open during the week of June 29, electrical upgrades will be underway at the school this summer. Due to construction, we kindly ask that you email me to arrange an appointment with office staff. We will respond to your email and schedule a suitable time to meet. The school and office will be closed on Wednesday, July 1st.

The school office will be open June 28th, 30th, and July 2nd and 3rd. We will be open again to return emails, and accept phone calls and registrations on Monday, August 31st. A reminder that the first day of school is September 8th, and the education staff will be at the school on September 2nd and 3rd for Professional Development.

What School Supplies will my child need?

We know many families like to prepare for the school year by purchasing supplies over the summer. You are welcome to do so, but please keep it simple. Basic items like pencils, erasers, crayons, pencil crayons or markers, scissors, glue sticks, ruler and (for Grades 3–8) a calculator are more than enough. Please note: The school will provide all necessary learning materials. Purchasing school supplies is completely optional.

Students also require: a backpack, a lunch bag (with easy-to-open containers; healthy snacks encouraged); A refillable Water Bottle; Indoor Running Shoes with non-marking soles for physical education (Velcro or Slip-on if needed); Headphones for use with technology (in a labeled bag), and a Box of Kleenex for the classroom (optional)

It is very important to label all items that you send - as we send many lost and found items to be donated each year. Please also note that a change of clothing is good practice for ALL grades - you never know when a mud puddle will jump out at your student at recess!

School Property and The Playground

Now that the warm weather has arrived, we seek your cooperation in reducing school vandalism. If you notice any vandalism or damages to DSBN schools or properties and are looking to report it, please call Password Protection Services. The phone number is 1-800-561-3099. Once notified, they will then contact the appropriate personnel at DSBN and the issues will be dealt with in a timely manner. Thank you for your support in keeping our school and community safe and for your help in keeping our building safe for when our students return!
